✨ 3 Ways to Set Spiritual Goals with Your Littles This School Year
Back-to-School With Bible-Based Intentionality
As we sharpen pencils, lay out lesson plans, and fill our classroom shelves with fresh supplies, let’s not forget the most important preparation of all: the heart. 💛 This back-to-school season is a powerful opportunity to plant seeds of faith in our littles—and one of the best ways to do that is by setting spiritual goals as a family or classroom.
Whether you're a homeschool mama, a Christian preschool teacher, or a childcare director, these three intentional, Bible-centered goals will help you guide your little ones to grow not only in knowledge, but in wisdom, character, and love.
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
📖 1. Memorize God’s Word, One Verse at a Time
Start simple, stay consistent. Choose one KJV memory verse per week that aligns with your lessons or current struggles. For example:
Philippians 4:13 for confidence
Proverbs 15:1 for kindness
Psalm 56:3 for fear
💡 Pro tip: Make it part of your morning routine—chant it, sing it, trace it, and color it!

🙏 2. Practice Prayer With Purpose
Prayer is not just for bedtime. Help your littles develop a daily relationship with Jesus by practicing age-appropriate prayers:
Thankfulness before snack time 🍎
Asking for help during transitions
Praising God during worship and circle time
Encourage them to create a Prayer Journal or use a visual Prayer Wall in your home or classroom.

🌱 3. Serve With Joy, Even in Small Ways
Jesus came to serve (Mark 10:45), and our little ones can learn that too—right from the toddler years!
Here are age-appropriate service ideas:
Helping pack a bag for a food ministry
Writing/drawing thank-you notes for church staff
Being a “classroom helper” during clean-up time
Turn service into a habit by using "My Hands Can Help" Weekly Charts, and tie it back to Scripture:
“By love serve one another.” – Galatians 5:13 (KJV)

💬 Let’s Raise Disciples, Not Just Students
When you take time to nurture faith as part of your school goals, you're not just checking boxes—you’re helping shape eternity. 🙌
These spiritual habits—memorizing Scripture, practicing prayer, and serving with joy—will bear fruit far beyond this school year. As we pour into the hearts of these precious children, let’s trust God to do the growing. 🌾
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
